55 dates at the mumok

The exhibition 55 Dates at the mumok invites visitors to explore 55 works selected from the mumok collection of around 10,000. These works do not present a classical perspective on art history but rather a diverse coexistence of ways of thinking, themes, and artistic media. The selection ranges from Paul Klee, Giacomo Balla, and Pablo Picasso to Andy Warhol, uniting very different approaches in one show, with Anna Artaker, Cosima von Bonin, Günter Brus, Friedl Dicker, VALIE EXPORT, Marta Hoepffner, Ed Paschke, and many more. This exhibition presents a mix of the known and the lesser known, with artists whose names and works have entered art history and others still to be discovered. Curated by Susanne Neuburger and Jörg Wolfert. 02.07.2018 – 03.02.2019.

Artists: Anna Artaker, Giacomo Balla, Joseph Beuys, Günter Brus, André Cadere, John De Andrea, Robert Delaunay, André Derain, Friedl Dicker, VALIE EXPORT, Richard Gerstl, Albert Gleizes, Ralph Goings, Haus-Rucker-Co. (Günter Zamp Kelp, Laurids Ortner, Klaus Pinter), Marta Hoepffner, Johannes Itten, Jasper Johns, Allan Kaprow, Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka, František Kupka, Yayoi Kusama, Maria Lassnig, Louise Lawler, Ree Morton, museum in progress, Bruce Nauman, Henrik Olesen, Yoko Ono, Nam June Paik, Gina Pane, Pino Pascali, Ed Paschke, Pablo Picasso, Charlotte Posenenske, Robert Rauschenberg, Dieter Roth, Niki de Saint Phalle, Paul Sarkisian, Alfons Schilling, Ashley Hans Scheirl, Carolee Schneemann, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, Cy Twombly, Marina Abramovic und Ulay, Andy Warhol, Franz West, Wiener Gruppe (Franz J. Hubmann, Friedrich Achleitner, Konrad Bayer, Gerhard Rühm, Oswald Wiener), Cosima von Bonin, Heimo Zobernig.

02.07.2018 – 03.02.2019.

Olaf Nicolai at Kunsthalle Wien

There Is No Place Before Arrival is the title of the multilayered exhibition Kunsthalle Wien dedicates to German artist Olaf Nicolai, which comprises a main installation conceived specifically for the main hall of Kunsthalle Wien and expands beyond the walls of the institution through an array of interventions – both object and time-based, physical and performative – at different venues offering an expanded project which takes place between private and public spaces. At Kunsthalle Wien Olaf Nicolai has commissioned several street and theatre painters to paint onto the floor a pool of twenty-two images of different kinds selected from his personal archive of newspaper clippings. Curator: Luca Lo Pinto. 13/7 2018 – 7/10 2018.

Mit There Is No Place Before Arrival widmet die Kunsthalle Wien dem deutschen Künstler Olaf Nicolai eine umfangreiche Ausstellung. Kurator: Luca Lo Pinto. 13/7 2018 – 7/10 2018.

Other Mechanisms at the Secession

The Secession presents a groupshow " Other Mechanisms" curated by Anthony Huberman. The works in this exhibition reflect on what it could mean to contest the regime of the machine, to complicate existing systems with impossible tools and elaborate protocols that misalign output from their inputs.

Artists: Zarouhi Abdalian, Lutz Bacher, Nairy Baghramian, Eva Barto, Patricia L. Boyd, Nina Canell & Robin Watkins, Jay DeFeo, Trisha Donnelly, Harun Farocki, Howard Fried, Aaron Flint Jamison, Jacob Kassay, Garry Neill Kennedy, Friedrich Kiesler, Pope.L, Louise Lawler, Sam Lewitt, Park McAthur, Jean-Luc Moulene, Cameron Rowland, Sturtevant und Danh Vo.
