BELVEDERE devotes the exhibition „Danse Macabre - Egger-Lienz and the War“ at the Orangery to Albin Egger-Lienz (1868–1926). His WWI paintings are impressive memorials warning against the horrors of fighting and violence. 7 March to 9 June 2014.

The exhibition "Hundertwasser, Japan and the Avant-garde" at the BELVEDERE documents the adoption of Japanese Art and Far Eastern Philosophy in the Early Work of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Comprising more than 40 works by the artist and numerous works by exponents of the international avant-garde – including Yves Klein, Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana, Jean Dubuffet, Tetsumi Kudo, Akira Kito, Yayoi Kusama, etc. March 6th to June 30th, 2013.

AWAKENING THE NIGHT at BELVEDERE

The curators Brigitte Borchard-Birbaumer and Harald Krejci divided the exhibiton "AWAKENING THE NIGHT" at the Belvedere into twelve themes among which are "Dream and Sleep", "Variations of Love", "Myths an Literatures" and "Night Inside Man". But also include topics like "The Night Beyond the Earth" and "The End of the Night in a Smog of Light". Oct 24, 2012 - Feb 17, 2013.
