Hermann Nitsch "The Early Works, Eccence of Duerkheim Collection" at MZM


The Museumszentrum Mistelbach aka Hermann Nitsch Museum just opened the huge 2011 show "The Early Works. Eccence of the Duerkheim Collection". Many early and seldom shown works from wax pieces, drawings to big canvasses of early performances are on display. Truly overwhelming! Till Apr 14, 2012

Das Museumszentrum Mistelbach / Hermann Nitsch Museum hat die große Ausstellung "Herrman Nitsch - Das Frühe Werk. Die Essenz der Duerkheim Collection" eröffnet. Viele frühe und selten gezeigte Werke - Wachsbilder, großformatige Zeichnungen und große Leinwände von frühen Orgien-Mysterienspielen werden präsentiert. Bis zum 14. April, 2012.

Viennafair 2011


theartVIEw brings home lots of impressions of this years Viennafair. The focus is on art in Eastern Europe and especially Turkey. But also good to see that lots of young Austrian artist made it into Vienna's established Galleries. Ragnar Kjartansson "Take me here by the Dishwasher" at BAWAG Contemporary


Ragnar Kjartansson's sound installation "Take me here by the Dishwasher – Memorial for a Marriage" at BAWAG Contemporary. The young artists from Island presents together with several musicians an autobiographic performance full of romance, humor and soft vintage porn. Music by Kjartan Sveinsson, legendary Keyboard player of the famous islandic post rock band Sigur Rós, who was also present at the opening. Till June 26, 2011.

Ragnar Kjartansson Soundinstallation "Take me here by the Dishwasher – Memorial for a Marriage" in der BAWAG Contemporary. Der Shootingstar aus Island präsentiert mit seiner Truppe aus isländischen Musikern eine autobiographische Performance voll Romantik, Humor und Vintageporno. Musik von Kjartan Sveinsson, dem legendären Keyboarder der isländischen Postrockband Sigur Rós. Bis 26 Juni 2011.

art austria 2011 at Leopoldmuseum


theartVIEw shows a few glimpses from the opening of Art Austria, an art fair showing works of austrian artists of various periods. While well established art and artist still are the main focus more and more contemporary art and upcoming artist are promoted by their galleries this year.

Auf der 4. art austria, wo traditionell eher etablierte Kunst und Künstler der verschiedensten Epochen zu sehen war wird – heuer zum ersten mal im Leopoldmuseum – wird von den insgesamt 49 Ausstellern immer mehr zeitgenössische Kunst und noch nicht so etablierte Künstler gezeigt.
