Urs Fischer has installed his show "Skinny Sunrise" at KUNSTHALLE Vienna.
With his sculptures he is balancing between grand gestures and pop attitude, playing with light and shadow, gravity, or materiality. Abstract, representational, and figurative artworks made of materials such as styrofoam, mirror glass or wax memorialize the vanitas motif and transience of the world. In "Skinny Sunrise" in der KUNSTHALLE Wien setzt sich Urs Fischer in seinen Skulpturen nicht nur mit Materialität, Raum, Licht und Schatten auseinander sondern balanciert auch zwischen großen Gesten und Popattitüde, wenn er Vanitasmotive und die Vergänglichkeit der Welt zum Thema macht.
