Sharon Lockhart | Noa Eshkol at TBA21

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary at Augarten shows Sharon Lockhart's video works and photographs about her intensive research on Noa Eshkol the Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group and the revolutionary Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation system (EWMN) originally developed to enable choreographers to write a dance down. The videos show the dance movements of the members of the Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group performing five dances written by Eshkol and staged among different groupings of Eshkol's wall carpets. Also on display are two of Noa Eshkol’s wall carpets. She made carpets from collected scrap fabric only and never used scissors to modify the pieces from the form in which she found them. In addition to show members of the Eshkol's Chamber Dance Group do a daily rehearsal practice at the Augarten and open to the public. Curated by Daniela Zyman. November 23, 2012 - February 24, 2013.

Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary im Augarten zeigt Videos und Fotos von Sharon Lockhart über ihre intensiven Researcharbeit über die berühmte Israelische Choreographin Noa Eshkol (1924-2007), die Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group und das bahnbrechende Eshkol-Wachman Movement Notation system (EWMN), das es ermöglicht Bewegungsabläufe wie Noten schriftlich festzuhalten. Die Videos zeigen fünf Tänze von Noa Eshkol die vom Noa Eshkol Chamber Dance Group mit einem "Bühnenbild" aus Noa Eshkol’s wall carpet aufgeführt werden. Eshkol hinterließ mehrere hundert dieser textilen Kunstwerke, die sie aus gefundenen oder geschenkten Stoffresten, die sie so wie sie waren und ohne eine Schere zu verwenden, erzeugte. Zwei dieser bemerkenswerten Textilobjekte werden in der Schau gezeigt. Die täglichem Übungsstunden von Mitgliedern der Eshkol Chamber Dance Group im TBA21 im Augarten sind im November und Dezember täglich öffentlich zugänglich. Kuratiert von Daniela Zyman. 23.
