ARIK BRAUER Gesamt.Kunst.Werk at LEOPOLD MUSEUM

On the occasion of ARIK BRAUER’s 85th birthday the LEOPOLD MUSEUM is dedicating a retrospective to the artist with 100 paintings, graphic works and sculptures, from his time as a student to the present, featuring genres such as book illustrations, sculptures and architectonic designs alongside his paintings. After the war, Brauer founded the group of Fantastic Realists together with Wolfgang Hutter and Rudolf Hausner as well as his fellow students at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts Ernst Fuchs and Anton Lehmden. Nov 14th, 2014 – Feb 16th, 2015.

Dem Maler, Autor und Liedermacher, Bühnenbildner und Haus-Gestalter, vor allem aber Gesellschaftskritiker und Umweltschützer ARIK BRAUER widmet das LEOPOLD MUSEUM zum 85sten Geburtstag eine große Retrospektive, die mit 100 Gemälden, Grafiken und Skulpturen von seiner Studienzeit bis heute reicht. Brauer studierte nach Kriegsende an der Wiener Akademie der bildenden Künste und gründete gemeinsam mit seinen Studienkollegen Ernst Fuchs, Anton Lehmden sowie mit Wolfgang Hutter und Rudolf Hausner die Gruppe der Phantastischen Realisten. 14. Nov. 2014 bis 16. Feb. 2015.
