Mit RARE EARTH präsentiert Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary eine thematische Gruppenausstellung von 17 künstlerische Positionen. Die Ausstellung geht den begehrten Rohstoffen, die für die Erzeugung neuester technologischer „Gadgets“ bis hin zu modernen medizinischen Technologien wie auch Waffen benötigt werden, auf den Grund. Ausgangspunkt ist jeweils eines der 17 Elemente der Seltenen Erden (rare earth elements) des Periodensystems, die in allen Geräten des Alltags zu finden sind.
