A RUSH OF COLOR/FARBENRAUSCH at LEOPOLD MUSEUM

LEOPOLD MUSEUM presents masterpieces of German Expressionism from the collection of the Osthaus Museum in Hagen. Works by artists of “Die Brücke”, including Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, and exponents of the “Blaue Reiter” movement, such as Alexey von Jawlensky, Franz Marc and others, as well as numerous works by Christian Rohlfs illustrate the German avant-garde’s departure into Modernism. The exhibition is complemented by a selection of Expressionist works from the collection of the Leopold Museum and the Leopold Private Collection. Oct 9th 2015 to Jan 11th, 2016.

Das LEOPOLD MUSEUM zeigt Meisterwerke des deutschen Expressionismus aus der Sammlung des Osthaus Museum in Hagen. ­Werke der Brücke-Künstler Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Otto Mueller und Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, der Blaue Reiter-Exponenten Alexey von Jawlensky, Franz Marc u.a. sowie zahlreiche Werke von Christian Rohlfs zeigen den Aufbruch der deutschen Avantgarde in die Moderne. Ergänzt wird die Ausstellung durch eine Auswahl expressionistischer Werke aus dem Bestand des Leopold Museum und der Privatsammlung Leopold. 09.10.2015 bis 11.01.2016.
