With Slow Graffiti Alex Da Corte has created a immersive installation for the Vienna Secession. The artist turns the 6,500 square feet iconic gallery space into a kind of fractured cityscape full of dysfunctional objects. The video Slow Graffiti, Da Corte’s interpretation of Jørgen Leth’s The Perfect Human shows the artist masked as Boris Karloff and Frankenstein’s monster to a score by Devonté Hynes. With Game Mechanics Ericka Beckman presents the film installation You the Better (1983/2015) and her most recent film Tension Building (2016) as well as drawings. July 6th – Sep 3rd, 2017.
Mit der raumfassenden Installation Slow Graffiti hat Alex Da Corte eine neue, auf die Wiener Secession zugeschnittene Arbeit geschaffen und verwandelt 600 qm großen Ausstellungsraum in eine Art gebrochene Stadtlandschaft voll von dysfunktionalen Objekten. Mit dem Video Slow Graffiti zeigt Da Cortes sein Szene für Szene nachgestellter Remake von The Perfect Human von Jørgen Leth (DK, 1967) und den Künstler als Boris Karloffs Version von Frankensteins Monster maskiert zur Musik von Devonté Hynes. In Game Mechanics zeigt Beckman die Film-Installation You the Better (1983/2015), ihren jüngsten Film Tension Building (2016) sowie Zeichnungen. 06.07. – 03.09.2017.
