VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary 2013

Austria’s largest international art fair the VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary 2013 showcases a selection of 127 both established and young, emerging galleries and art institutions. 51galleries from the focus region Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe and 36 galleries from Austria participate in the fair. The largest portion from Western Europe, comprises 20 participants from Germany and eleven more galleries from Belgium, Finland, France, Great Britain, Italy and Switzerland. Turkey is represented by four galleries, the USA by two participants and three galleries from Iran, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.The fair will be accompanied by talks, workshops, performances, and artists’ interventions. From October 10 to 13, 2013.

Österreichs größte internationale Kunstmesse, die VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary 2013 zeigt heuer 127 etablierte und junge, aufstrebende Galerien und Kunstinstitutionen. 51 Galerien aus dem CEE Raum und Südosteuropa nehmen ebenso Teil wie 36 Galerien aus Österreich. Die Türkei ist heuer mit vier Galerien vertreten. Die Messe dauert vom 10. bis 13. Oktober, 2013 und wird von einem umfangreichen Rahmenprogramm mit Diskussionen, Workshops, Performances und Interventionen von Künstlern begleitet.

GOODBYEHELLO and CHRISTAN EISENBERGER

The exhibition GOODBYEHELLO of the LENICUS COLLECTION displays mainly artists which have participated in the Artist in Residence program. The selected works contextualize the oscillations between coming and going, creation and dissolution, uniform and vicissitude, as well as the fluxus between different realms of consciousness. Die Ausstellung GOODBYEHELLO der SAMMLUNG LENIKUS präsentiert großteils KünstlerInnen, die in den letzten Jahren an dem Artist in Residence-Programm teilgenommen haben. Die ausgewählten Werke thematisieren auf unterschiedliche Weise Übergänge zwischen Kommen und Gehen, Entstehen und Vergehen. 03.10.2013 - 25. 11.2013.

Kokoschka The Self in Focus at LEOPOLD MUSEUM

The exhibition at the LEOPOLD MUSEUM in cooperation with the Oskar Kokoschka-Zentrum of the University of Applied Arts Vienna shows photographs from one of the most significant 20th-century Austrian artists Oskar Kokoschka together with selected portraits, landscapes and his so called city portraits. The photos communicate a rich and intense artistic life, while at the same time they represent a piece of 20th-century history both in terms of cultural developments and in general. 4 October 2013 - 27 January 2014.

Mit »Kokoschka. Das Ich im Brennpunkt« stellt das LEOPOLD MUSEUM erstmals Fotografien aus Kokoschkas Leben seinen Werken gegenüber. Auswahl aus den rund 5.000 Fotos aus dem Besitz des Oskar Kokoschka-Zentrum der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien zeigen den vielseitig, oft provokant und kontroversiellen Künstler und Privatmann. Die Aufnahmen, zum Teil von namhaften Fotografen und Fotografinnen, dokumentieren das Leben Kokoschkas vom Enfant terrible in jungen Jahren, als prominenter »entarteter« Künstler in offener Gegnerschaft zum Naziregime, bis zum hoch geschätzten "Staatskünstler der späten Jahre.
